9.0'' HD Dashboard Touch Screen
If the screen are blackscreen when installed, it may be that Tesla system detects the change of power supply and then protects the power supply of the plug directly, resulting in the low power supply voltage of the screen and unable to start up.
Solution: Lock the car, and then keep people and key fob away from the car for 1 hour; After the power supply of the screen is restored, and then screen will start working
If my carplay screen have echoing problem, how to solve it?
Solution: When you are using carplay, if you want to route your calls through the car or speaker as default, you'll need to go to iPhone setup>accessibility > touch > call audio routing > set to Bluetooth headset which will then default to any Bluetooth device, which in this case, happens to be the tesla. Or set it to Speaker, which will default to iPhone Speaker rather than carplay.
Great product, but room for improvement
I simply love it. Having a screen in front of my is a great deal that Model 3/Y are missing. This not only solves that problem but also gives the ability to use Carplay and Android Auto (both wirelessly). Installation is easy expect the connector part where Tesla does not have enough room, but it's doable. I'm mostly using Android Auto and after first setup, it launches AA automatically and I love using Waze. Google assistant also works flawlessly and I get all notifications from my phone on the screen and I can respond as well. Touch is very sensitive and works as expected. There are few things which is why it's not a 5-star and I'm hoping this can be fixed using software update. Font in speedometer is totally different from what Tesla is using so I have to get used to it when looking at either screen. Not only that, it's a non-traditional font and number 4 has a cutout which is an eyesore. Also not sure how speed limit works as there are cases which speed is temporary reduced and both Tesla and Waze changes it but the display still uses original speed and not updated one. Sometimes notifications coming from Waze have jittery sound, like "redlight camera" but it speaks halfway and then just silences. Also the brightness (even in auto) is much more than Tesla's display which is very bothersome specifically at night. Also it has more bluish tone compared to Tesla's but yellow tone display. This causes some annoyance as well. Lastly, I am unable to find the meaning of READY that's on the display. I've asked other users and no one has any idea. There is nothing in the manual or online. I think this can be fixed via software update, but not sure if Hansshow is ever going to release an update as per their website they have a warning not to update software unless there is an issue.
Each manufacturer's device font settings will be different, if you want to upgrade the software, you can contact my what'sapp 13044219654, I will help you upgrade, but there is no problem that does not need to be upgraded
Model Y Dashboard
I love the dashboard - except for one nagging problem: when I “start” my Tesla, the sound now generally defaults to the small speaker on the dashboard, instead of the car sound system. To get the sound to switch to the Tesla speakers, I have to use the car controls to adjust the sound volume, pause the media, etc. Also, even after “forcing” the sound to play through the Tesla speakers, the sound sometimes switches back to the dashboard speaker, requiring me to repeat the process described above. Since buying the dashboard, I’ve discovered that others have experienced the same problem. Is there a fix for this problem?
Great Product if you accept a few caveats
So far I have enjoyed and found this product very useful. I am a CarPlay user and it definitely changes how I use my Model 3. CarPlay is a necessity in my mind and it is my main complaint in having a Tesla. However this device seems to bridge the feature gap with a few caveats. 1. Using the bluetooth link (BT LINK) to the Tesla causes an echo on all phone calls. Instead I have my phone still as the primary bluetooth connected device. This results in having to manually press play on the Tesla interface to ensure that audio plays out of the speakers and not the Hansshow device. It works reasonably well as is, but is an annoyance and may be a deal breaker for some. 2. I live in Texas and it gets hot. There is still a noticeable blockage of AC vents. However I have adjusted to this change for the most part and you can direct your vents to move air laterally and that seems to help. 3. Lastly if you do use the BT Link to link the audio back to your car speakers, there is a noticeable delay. i.e. when you pause or skip forward it takes a second for things to pause or ski[p forward in the car. If you use the phone to connect directly to bluetooth of your car and still have wireless CarPlay enabled to the device, this is not an issue. If you understand the above caveats and still want to have CarPlay in your car, I would recommend this device. Its almost a native solution, but not there yet.
Great display and should’ve come from the factory like this or at least the option to install apps!
Very easy installation besides connecting the one adapter in the passenger foot well(Intel). I tried a few different ways from being upside down and trying to grab it with my left and right, using two iPhone spudgers, the only way that worked was for me to move the passenger seat all the way back, sit in front of the seat, reach blindly with my left hand, push the tab, and pull hard to get it out. After that it was very smooth. I wrapped my connections under the dash in electric tape to make sure they aren’t making any noise. I’ve been using it for over two weeks now and love it, I have Waze and all my information right in front of me. Everything from the Apple car play, sound to the instrument panel are perfectly synced. My only complaint is the speedometer for mph looks a little lazy/sloppy since the max speed says 260. Looks good for kmh but looks ****** when in mph mode. I also thought the default brightness for day and night was too bright, but not a problem anymore after figuring out how to switch the brightness to manual and setting it to my liking. You can also turn the brightness all the way down which will shut off the display completely to if you don’t want it on or want to save power, not that it uses much anyway, you might save 1-5 miles turning it off. I’ve did a few trips and haven’t noticed a difference in range. Was also charging cells phones too and the battery telling me how many miles I had left was still spot on. I noticed a lot of people complain and say it blocks the vents. It doesn’t block the vents at all. It does affect the flow of air though. You can’t get the air to blow directly into your face is the only problem. If you like that you probably wouldn’t want this. I can still feel the air fine, and that isn’t a problem for me. I can still even feel it on my face and body when I split my air and point it up. So unless you want the air blowing directly into your face, don’t listen to the people saying it blocks the vents. I still haven’t even had to switch my fan speed. For me I like 4-5 and that’s still the way it is. I wanted one when they were $800, but thought that was too much, and now I’m happy with this at $400. Only thing I needed help with after install was the brightness, and asked for help with the brightness and got help fast. Couldn’t believe I didn’t see that I could just switch the brightness to manual in the settings. I also love how I can easily control everything with the buttons on the steering wheel. Music, phone, messages, goggle maps, all the car play apps, and Waze I can even report stuff, all using the buttons on the wheel and not having to touch the screen at all! Really great and smooth, I’ve read in the past about Hansshow coming out with new displays and people updating or even have to replace their pcb boards to stay up to date with the new technology. Which is great if this becomes outdated and that will be a quick and easy fix. So I’m not worried about this display becoming obsolete anytime soon. I’m very happy with it and now will probably always have to install one in my Tesla if I get a new one. Unless I can afford an S or X in the future, and don’t have too install a display in front of me. I also like the look of this more than the S or X, yeah they look more OEM, but this looks more modern and I wouldn’t be surprised if the new S and X dashes look like this display in the future. Since my only complaint is the speedometer which could easily be fixed with an update, I give this display 5-Stars!
Ordered the 9” Linux screen for my RHD 2021 M3. Arrived quickly and overall quality very good. Fitting it onto the dashboard was easy and quick but trying to connect it to the OBD port was a nightmare. Hands and fingers bruised and cut trying to fit it. Reached out to Hansshow for some support by email but was ignored so not happy with their support service. Eventually after trying for 2 days I managed to get it connected. If you’re willing to put up with the pain and frustration of trying to access the OBD port and connect then it’s definitely worth it.
Great but minor issues
Good but they need to improve the way to list and distribute firmwares. Basicaly random posts in the forum only right now. Keep improving, your on the right track
Super happy with the purchase. I have it for almost 1 month now and it makes a huge difference while driving. Front camera also helps when parking in order not to hit any high curbs you encounter. Customer support was very helpful with installation tips making the process very smooth.
2021 Tesla 3 - Not having dash in front of steering wheel was a real problem for me. Easy to install following YouTube videos and the instructions. That last plug is very hard but can be done. Small hands are best. 50 + yr old did it with normal hands. Very happy with product. They also have telephone and chat if you have questions. Very responsive.
Makes the transition to a Tesla 100x easier
While it was a little time intensive to install, it’s at no fault of Hansshow; Tesla’s placement of the computer plug-ins is not in an optimal place. The integration of the Heads-Up Display is seamless, quite literally plug and play. I’m able to choose to see my miles left on the Hansshow and percentage left on the Tesla screen. One thing I immediately hated about my Tesla was the lack of smart phone integration, but Hansshow solved that problem by giving back the ability to have CarPlay. I’m beyond pleased and would recommend this product to any Model 3 and Model Y owner. Looks OEM.
Really nice hardware, but software could be improved
As the title says, the hardware is really nice, but the software could be improved. The hardware looks like it could be an original Tesla part. But the graphical part doesn't look that original. Font types is different than the ones used on the original main Tesla display, and the background xolor at daytime is also a bit different. The most important is that the display doesn't show if the cruise control is active or not, and what the maximum speed of the cruise control is set to, so you still need to look a lot at the main display when driving with cruise control. Furthermore it would also be nice to see if full self driving is active or not. I really hope this will be fixed with a firmware upgrade in the future, should hopefully be easy to fix. Last thing, you need a place on your website where you can see and download the latest available firmware, so the customer doesn't need to contact you via mail to get it.
Hansshow display on UK Tesla Model 3
I have now fitted my display to my Tesla Model 3. Unfortunately, the instructions supplied are poor, but there are good videos on how to fit the display in a US Model 3. But, and this is a big BUT, the CPU in the car still faces the same direction and the connectors are up against the centre of the car. To fit this display, you need to take out the glovebox and the trim covering the inside of the passenger area and against the centre of the car. Even then, fitting the Y cable is still very hard. However, once fitted and working, there is a slight degradation in airflow from the vents, but the display is superb as are the added features and ability to always see the odometer and use car play. I set my display in permanent night mode. I would have given the unit 5/5 were it not for the difficulty in fitting it. This is not an average DIY job, be warned. I recommend, but with fitting reservations.
Product works well. The new hd is much clearer. Easy to install. Everything’s great!
I haven't done apple car play yet, but will eventually check it out when I need it. So far so good! Great customer service from Hansshow.
Easy to install and looks great 5*****
Really nice screen. High definition ,very slim shape. It takes me about 30 mins to finish the installation. Before installation, i read some tutorial videos on Youtube just want to make sure every step is clear to me.
Très beau écran, pas facile à brancher mais ça vaut le coup
Model Y Center Console Dashboard Touch Screen
Delivery was very quick, looks a good product, still to install, waiting for my model Y delivery, 2-3 months away
Simple, quick installation and does the job perfectly.
