The Benefits of Having a Rear Touch Display in the Tesla Model 3/Y

Tesla's interiors are getting progressively better, but there are still some features that the electric vehicle maker seems to consider premium. These include, among other things, the rear touchscreen.

Introduced in the Model S Plaid and its sister vehicle, the Model X, the rear touch display provides passengers on the rear seats with their own infotainment system of sorts. Through the rear touch display, they could access features, stream movies, and even play games.

The feature, however, was not available on the Model 3 and Model Y, at least until the recent release of the Model 3 Highland. Despite this, there seems to be a solid argument for the idea that most Teslas today do not have a rear touch display. The pre-Highland Model 3 and the Model Y comprise the lion's share of Tesla's sales after all.

This is quite unfortunate as the rear touch screen has several advantages. Here are some of them:
  • Improved entertainment for rear passengers. With a rear touchscreen display, rear passengers can watch movies, play games, or listen to music. This can help to keep them entertained on long trips and make the ride more enjoyable for everyone.
  • Enhanced climate control. The rear touchscreen display also allows rear passengers to control the climate control settings for their own seats. This means that they can adjust the temperature, fan speed, and vent direction to their own comfort level.
  • Added convenience. The rear touchscreen display also has a number of other convenient features, such as the ability to control the volume of the stereo and adjust the brightness of the headlights.
  • Increased resale value. A rear touchscreen display can also make your Tesla more appealing to potential buyers when you come to sell it. This is because it is a valuable and desirable feature that many buyers are looking for.

Fortunately, there is a way for the millions of pre-Highland Model 3 and Model Y owners to get rear touchscreens for their vehicles. This is where we come in. Our H7 rear touch display provides much of the features available in Tesla's OEM touchscreens for the Model 3 Highland, Model S, and Model X, and it's offered at a very reasonable price too.
